According to Article 140 of the Organic Law on the electoral system, “the application file is submitted, at the latest, in the 45 days following the issuance of the presidential decree convening the electorate.”
The application file must be submitted by the applicants himself.
To date, two applicants have submitted their applications (last Thursday) at the Constitutional Council, namely Ali Zeghdoud, leader of the Algerian rally, and Abdelhakim Hamadi, (independent candidate).

Three other applicants said they will submit their applications on Saturday, namely Belaid Abdelaziz (El-Moustakbel Front), Abdelkader Bengrina (El Binaa Movement), Adoul Mahfoudh (National Victory P°arty).
The Central Committee of the Workers Party of Louisa Hanoune will meet Saturday to decide whether she runs for the presidential election or not.

The political bureau of Talaie El Hourriyet party of Ali Benflis will meet Sunday to decide on the matter.
President Abdelaziz Bouteflika, seeking reelection, will submit his application to the Constitutional Council on Sunday, March 3, according to his campaign manager, Abdelmalek Sellal.
