Local development ministry signs 6 infrastructure deals
Egypt’s minister of local development Mahmoud Sharawy has signed six agreements with the CEO of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise Development Agency (MSMEDA) Neven Gamea to establish infrastructure projects.
The deals aim to develop areas in the governorates of Alexandria, Port Said, Assiut, Giza, Sharkia, and Menoufia in cooperation with MSMEDA, Sharawy said in a statement released by the cabinet on Wednesday.
The planned projects will be financed by a grant worth EGP 113.3 million from the European Union (EU), represented by the European Investment Bank (EIB).
These labour-intensive projects will contribute to creating about 1,252 jobs over a period of 18 months, Gamea said.
