(Al-Sammani – Najat ) Presidential Aide, Dr. Faisal Hassan Ibrahim reviewed the latest preparations for the launch of the first regional forum for smart agriculture,
which will be held in 24-26 Sept, in Khartoum.
Dr. Faisal was briefed during a meeting in his office at the Presidential Palace with the Director General of the Arab Organization for Agricultural Development, Professor Ibrahim Al-Dikhairi and Minister of Information and Information Technology, Bushara Jumaa Aror on the preparations for the Arab Organization for Agricultural Development and the ministries of agriculture and forestry and ministry of information and information technology to prepare for the conference.
Al-Dikhairi said in a press statement after the meeting that the Forum’s opening meeting will be honored and addressed by the First Vice President, 1st Lt. Gen Bakri Hassan Salih at the Friendship Hall, adding that the foreign delegations participating in the Forum will begin arriving in Khartoum from next Saturday, and Al-Dikhairi stressed the importance of the conference and its role in the development of Agriculture, noting that the Khartoum declaration that will be issued by the Forum will represent a road map in this field.
Meanwhile, Director General of the Arab Organization for Agricultural Development, Professor Ibrahim Al-Dikhairi stated to Sudan Vision – in an exclusive interview to be published tomorrow– that the forum will be participated by high level governments officials, (Ministers, Deputy Ministers, decision makers) representing Ministries of Agriculture and environment, Ministries of Communication and Information Technologies, IoT solutions and services providers and telecom operators in Arab and African regions amongst international specialized organizations and international experts.
He pointed enumerated the objectives of the 1st Inter-Regional Smart Agriculture Forum which aims to initiate an Inter-Regional dialogue about the IoT and new technology trends by gathering high level personalities from the Arab, African regions and Internationally to emphasizing the role of the ICT, mostly IoT technologies in agricultural development within the Arab and African regions.
Al-Dikhairi said that Al Bashir’s Food Security Initiative is going on below the aspirations, pointing out that some other similar initiatives, confirming that if Al Bashir’s Food Security Initiative is implemented it will achieve several benefits to the Arab nation.
Al-Dikhairi affirmed that the Arab Agricultural Day will be celebrated on the 27th of September which coincides the annual anniversary of establishing the Arab Organization for Agricultural Development which was on the 27th of September 1972.
The ceremony will take place at the Head office in Khartoum with the participation of Arab Ministers of Agriculture.
It is worth noting that the two-day international forum”1stInterregional Smart Agriculture Forum” will be divided into sessions/panels dealing with the Smart agriculture and Smart technologies both on regulatory and technical aspects.
