The head of the board of directors of the German Development Bank (KFW) for the Middle East and North Africa, Helmut Gauges, reaffirmed KFW’s willingness to support the economic transition in Tunisia, the Foreign Ministry reports in a statement.
During an interview Monday with Minister of Foreign Affairs, Khemaies Jhinaoui, the head of the KFW specified that this support is meant to the process of reforms, the intensification of financial and technical cooperation programmes including reinforcement of investments, financial and banking reforms as well as promotion of the renewable energy sector and water management.
For his part, the Tunisian FM voiced satisfaction at the privileged level of relations of cooperation and partnership between Tunisia and Germany, as well as for the continuous German support to the efforts of revival of the national economy and boosting development in the interior regions.
In this context, he commended the cooperation programmes between Tunisia and KFW and the will to consolidate this cooperation in all areas.
Helmut Gauges was accompanied during this meeting by the president of the KFW office in Tunisia and the attaché of the German embassy.
