His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister, today met the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Her Excellency Theresa May. The meeting took place on the sidelines of HRH the Crown Prince’s visit to the United Kingdom to attend the official handover ceremony of the new Defence and National Rehabilitation Centre (DNRC).
During the meeting, HRH the Crown Prince highlighted the steady growth of strategic bilateral cooperation across areas of mutual interest, noting in particular the longstanding security relationship between both countries which is instrumental to promoting security and peace at the global level.
HRH the Crown Prince noted the longstanding ties between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the United Kingdom, and welcomed the UK’s commitment to maintaining the safety and stability of the region
HRH the Crown Prince emphasised the importance of building on an already successful and mutually beneficial trade relationship by supporting and strengthening trade and economic ties.
HRH the Crown Prince went on to express his appreciation to Her Excellency the Prime Minister for her keenness and interest in strengthening UK-Bahrain relations
The meeting also provided an opportunity to review regional and international issues, and discuss areas of common interest.
