Emirates NBD, listed on the Dubai Financial Market (DFM), on Wednesday announced it will launch new voice banking solutions powered by Amazon Web Services (AWS), a subsidiary of US-based Amazon, for customers in the UAE.
The new solutions will enable customers to get banking updates, track spends, and listen to daily market briefings on their Amazon Alexa devices, according to a press release.
The bank’s customers will be able to check their account and credit card balances and details of recent transactions by talking through an Amazon Echo smart speaker.
Moreover, customers can use the Emirates NBD skill for Amazon Alexa to get information on signing up for new products including loans, card instalment plans, and general programmes and initiatives carried out by the bank.
Suvo Sarkar, Senior Executive Vice President and Group Head – Retail Banking and Wealth Management at Emirates NBD, said: “Emirates NBD has always been at the forefront of banking innovations and Voice Banking is another step in this direction as we utilize new technologies to enhance overall customer experiences.”
“Customers are increasingly looking to connect with banks using natural speech as it provides significantly enhanced convenience and our introduction of Voice Banking is a step towards building an AI-based conversational ecosystem for our customers across all touch points,” Sarkar added.
The new solution strengthens Emirates NBD’s collaboration with Amazon Web Services (AWS), which was announced earlier this year.
