
Egypt-Spain bilateral trade rises 17% in 8M
Trade exchange between Egypt and Spain increased by 16.9% during the first eight months of 2017 to a total of EUR 1.6 billion (EGP 33.53 billion) compared to EUR 1.37 billion for the same period last year.
Egyptian exports to Spain surged 75% to EUR 779.8 million during the eight-month period, said the Egyptian minister of trade and industry Tarek Kabil.
Meanwhile, Egyptian imports from Spain declined by 11.4% year-on-year to EUR 823.5 million down from EUR 929 million for the corresponding period in 2016, the minister told Middle East News Agency (MENA) on Saturday.
Spanish investments in Egypt totalled $947 million (EGP 16.88 billion), distributed over 193 projects, with the majority in the industrial sector that dominated 89.3% of investments.
