
EGX ends Tuesday in red
Local and Arab sell-offs weighed on the indices of the Egyptian Exchange (EGX) on Tuesday.
The benchmark EGX30 index slipped 15.27 points, or 0.11%, finishing the session at 13,588.74 points.
The small- and mid-cap EGX70 index shed 0.14% to 689.73 points, whereas the broader EGX100 index tumbled 0.11% to 1,733.93 points.
Trading volume amounted to nearly 144.18 million shares exchanged at a turnover of EGP 649.4 million through 21,800 transactions.
Market capitalisation lost EGP 2.3 billion and closed at EGP 755.8 billion.
Foreign investors were net buyers with EGP 38.6 million, while Egyptian and Arab investors were net sellers with EGP 14.7 million and EGP 23.8 million, respectively.
The heavyweight Commercial International Bank (CIB) inched up 0.09% to EGP 80.10, with a turnover of EGP 114.4 million.
Global Telecom topped gainers with 4.69%, while Telecom Egypt led losers with 2.16%.
