The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) closed Tuesday’s trading session on a positive note.
The benchmark EGX30 index rose by 235 points, or 1.75%, to finish the mid-week session at 13,614 points, compared to 13,379 points on Monday.
Likewise, the small- and mid-cap EGX70 index went up 0.46% to 602.18 points, while the broader EGX100 index grew by 0.69% to close at 1,529.34 points.
Meanwhile, the equal-weighted EGX50 index increased by 2.08% to close at 2,032.49 points.
Market capitalization gained about EGP 9.55 billion to EGP 743.34 billion on Tuesday from EGP 733.79 billion on Monday.
Trading volume stood at about 100.11 million securities exchanged at a turnover of EGP 571.38 million through 17,244 transactions.
Egyptian and Arab investors were net buyers with EGP 17.61 million and EGP 16.99 million, respectively, while foreign investors were net sellers with EGP 34.6 million.
