The UAE-based Roads & Transport Authority’s (RTA) board has approved handing over a contract to purchase 900 vehicles to Dubai Taxi Corporation.
The 900 vehicles will be added to taxis fleet in Dubai, while 370 of them are environmental friendly as they are operated by fuel and electricity.
The deal includes buying 142 Toyota Camry cars, 193 Toyota Innova, 55 Lexus vehicles, 370 hybrid vehicles of the model Toyota Camry, and one of Toyota Hiace, RTA’s director general and chairman Mattar Al Tayer said.
The agreement also includes purchasing 15 Nissan Altima vehicles, 123 Hyundai Sonata vehicles, and one of the model Hyundai H1, Al Tayer added.
Under the deal, Al-Futtaim Motors and Juma Al Majid Group of Companies will be the supervisors for the project, provide technical support services, and offer trainings for Dubai Taxi employees.
