Dubai Crown Prince issues resolution to boost gov’t productivity
Crown Prince of Dubai and the chairman of the Executive Council of Dubai Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum has issued a resolution to improve productivity and competitiveness of government entities in the emirate.
The resolution No. (39) of 2018 for the Executive Council will be applied to all permanent employees in the government of Dubai, Arabian Business reported.
The new resolution related to the performance management and appraisal of Dubai government employees aims at linking individual targets of employees with the strategic targets of government entities.
The new system will be effective starting January 2019, according to the UAE-based business news platform.
Under the anticipated resolution, employees will guarantee a set of criteria for bonuses and incentives and the Dubai Government Human Resources Department (DGHRD) will be responsible for providing government entities with the required training and the implementation of new systems.
The new process has five phases, including performance planning, periodic review, evaluation, budgeting and adjustment of scores, and rewards and recognition.
Upon the resolution, the director general of each government entity will form a committee to conduct reviews of the performance evaluation of the organisation’s units in order to discuss it with managers.
