Oman Banking, Finance & Insurance August 2017
Oman’s financial services and insurance sectors are typical of the small GCC markets with a few notable distinctions. Oman is characterised by above average levels of political and social security. The latest report put out in 2015 by the Central Bank of Oman (CBO) noted that the Sultanate’s overall financial situation was stable. The report stressed that there are no imminent problems for the sector. Inflation rates are moderate, external sector risks are under control, and the country has a sufficient amount of reserves of foreign currency.
