Egypt Healthcare & Pharma July 2017
Egypt’s healthcare and pharmaceuticals sector is divided along the lines of public and private care. Public facilities tend to be underfunded and o er a low standard of care, while private facilities are normally more costly but o er high standards in terms of facilities and medical expertise. Underfunding and underdevelopment in the public sector suggest opportunities in the area of public private partnerships to develop health facilities, while the flourishing of private healthcare indicates that demand for world class private hospitals, clinics and testing centres will continue to grow. Egypt’s extremely underdeveloped rural healthcare network also presents opportunities for private healthcare providers and innovative solutions such as telemedicine.
