
Banks boost QSE at Monday’s close
The Qatar stock exchange (QSE) ended Monday’s trading session in the green, boosted by the growth of three sectors.
The general index rose 63.80 points, or 0.72%, to finish at 8,955.69 points.
The QSE’s liquidity decreased to QAR 213.87 million on Monday from QAR 214.26 million on Sunday, while the trading volume declined to 7.90 million shares against 11.81 million in the previous session.
The banking sector topped the QSE’s risers adding 1.18% as Doha Bank rose 2.50%.
Meanwhile, the industrial sector headed the bourse’s losers falling 0.18% after Gulf International Services went down 1.43%.
Qatar Gas Transport’s stock, which levelled down 0.34%, led the market in terms of trading volume with 1.05 million shares, while Qatar National Bank’s stock, which jumped 0.94%, headed the bourse in terms of liquidity with QAR 31.33 million.
