Abu Dhabi’s energy department partners with US research institute
The Abu Dhabi Department of Energy (DoE) has partnered with US’ Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI), the Emirates News Agency (WAM) reported on Tuesday.
The agreement is aimed at strengthening DoE’s research and development capabilities, along with enhancing its policy analysis and regulatory implementation.
“Since the inception of the DoE in 2018, we have demonstrated our ability to drive the sector’s policymaking, regulation, and strategic development process, leading Abu Dhabi towards a new energy era,” under-secretary of DoE, Mohamed bin Jarsh Alfalasi, said.
The recent agreement will deliver a variety of benefits to the DoE through EPRI’s technology innovation programme, according to WAM.
“We are looking forward to working with the Abu Dhabi DoE, supporting its research and development needs, which will help support the transformation of Abu Dhabi’s energy sector,” EPRI’s president and CEO, Mike Howard, commented.
